Here at Voyage & Soap, we love to eat out but we also love to cook tasty, nourishing wholesome food in our own homes and absolutely depend on London’s farmers’ markets. These exist, not just to increase farm incomes and supply high quality, local, seasonal food to urban communities, but also to encourage sustainable methods of food production, supporting traditional animal breeds and heritage fruit & veg varieties. They also encourage Londoners to take a greater interest in food production and engage them in important rural issues.

The markets put customers in direct contact with the farmers, fishermen, growers and bakers. Every week, car parks, school playgrounds and town squares blossom into thriving communities where you can meet your neighbours, swap recipes and fill your shopping baskets with wholesome, healthy food that your entire household will love.

Before we share our favourite farmers markets there is one market that stands taller for us than any other. Yup. Borough Market. Hands Down. King. Emperor. This is where you’ll find us on a Saturday morning before the crowds get going. It’s got simply everything we could ever dream for and the quality of the ingredients are amazing to cook great dishes with.
